Roberta Frances Miller Carr

Roberta Frances Miller Carr, age 85 years, a resident of the Dry Fork Community, Elk, Hendricks, WV departed this life Monday evening, March 29, 2021 at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, WV.  She had been in declining health.

She was born Friday, August 30, 1935 at Johnstown, PA, a daughter of the late Marion and Mabel Bonner Miller.  On December 27, 1955 at Pine Grove, WV, she was married to Charles William Carr, who preceded her in death October 4, 2013.

Surviving are two daughters, Anna Lynn Wilcher of Dry Fork and Bobbi Jean Martin of Elkview, WV; one brother, Ronald Martin Miller, Sr. and wife Darlene of Parsons; one sister, Lou Miller of Parsons; five grandchildren, Lisa Dearien, Stephen Wilcher, Lauren Miller, Aliyah Martin and Lexie Martin; and six great grandchildren, Patrick Dellinger, Matthew Dellinger, Kerri Vance, Twins, Tyler and Logan Wilcher and Weston Sigmon.

Also preceding her in death one brother, Myron Kent Miller; five sisters, Marie Webb, Wilma Freidhoff, Carla Carr, Ava and Marion Miller.

She attended the schools of Johnstown and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1953.  She was a former employee of Maidenform at Johnstown, PA and after she got married, she worked for the Social Security Administration at Baltimore, MD.  She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church at Baltimore, MD, where she played the piano and taught Sunday School.  She enjoyed crochet, sewing, needlepoint, embroidery and showed off her talents by making things for holidays and for her family. She had a knack for bookkeeping and accounting work and especially loved children.  She was a wonderful Mother.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons, WV on Friday from 12 Noon to 2 p.m..  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2 p.m.  Rev. Lonnie Daniels officiated and interment followed at the Brights Chapel Cemetery at Dry Fork, WV. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to St. Jude Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Roberta Frances Miller Carr.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
