Ronald “Ronnie” McDonald

Ronald “Ronnie” McDonald, 83, a former resident of the Bretz community, Hambleton, passed from this life Friday, February 18, 2022, at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Elkins. 

  Ronnie was born Sunday, February 5, 1939, in Hendricks, a son of the late William “Bill” McDonald and the late Bessie Johnson McDonald.  On April 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth “Ann” Murray who preceded him in death on July 18, 2018.  

  Left to cherish Ronnie’s memory is a son, William “Billy” McDonald, of Parsons, a daughter, Dorothy Phillips and husband, Phil, of Montrose, a brother, Robert “Bob” McDonald and wife, Donna, of Beckley, a sister, Greta Schunter and husband, Chris, of St. Augustine, FL, many nieces and nephews, and special friends. 

   Preceding Ronnie in death besides his parents and wife was a daughter, Anna McDonald, a daughter-in-law, Becky McDonald, three brothers and three sisters.   

  Ronnie attended the schools of Randolph County and was a former employee of Lamberts Chevrolet, Memorial General Hospital and Davis Memorial Hospital before becoming disabled.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard darts, horseshoe and especially enjoyed his grand cats, Miss Ginger and Miss Cricket.  He loved spending time with his family.  Ronnie was a Protestant by faith.

  Visitation was held on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 11 am to 12 noon the funeral hour.  James Snyder officiated, and interment followed in the Parsons City Cemetery.  The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Ronald (Ronnie) McDonald.  Condolences may be made to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
