Virginia Rachel Beckman

Virginia Rachel Beckman, 94, formerly of Aurora, WV and most recently from Petersburg, WV and Charles Town, WV died October 8, 2013 at Winchester Valley Health System.
She was born February 5, 1919 in Aurora, WV a daughter of the late Warden Vale and Myrtle Agnes Lantz Pifer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Glen Beckman, Sr., one son, Garland Glen Beckman, Jr., one brother, Darwin Vale Pifer and one sister, Lea Pearl Minear. Survivors include; one son, Dana K. (Cathy) Beckman, Gore, VA, one daughter, Wanda (Jerry) Ball, Charles Town, WV, one sister, Vera Lavena Auvil, Parsons, WV and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 
Mrs. Beckman was employed as a machine operator for Bausch & Lomb in Oakland, Md. for many years. She was a former member of Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church and a member of Maysville Church of the Brethren. She was a volunteer at Grant County Senior Center and enjoyed baking and sharing with everyone.

 
Friends were received on Thursday October 10 at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis, WV from 5-8 p.m.. Funeral services were held on Friday October 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lynn Durbin officiating. Interment  followed in the Stemple Ridge Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. hinklefuneralhome.com
