William ‘Bill’ Dombrosky

William ‘Bill’ Dombrosky, age 75 years, a resident of the Shavers Fork Road, Kerens, WV, departed this life Sunday morning, March 16, 2014 at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, WV. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

William DombroskyHe was born Friday, February 24, 1939 at Bridgeport, NJ, a son of the late Michael and Helen Belsky Dombrosky. On October 26, 1973 at Pennsville, NJ, he was married to the former Cecilia “Ceal” Marie Vieira, who survives.

Also surviving are five sons, John Wayne Sorrels and James “Perry” Sorrels and wife Deborah, all of DE; Jeffery Dale Sorrels and Kim, Mark Alan Sorrels and wife Linda and Michael Joseph Sorrels and wife Terry, all of NJ; four daughters, Sherry Lee Jaeger and Irv of NJ, Linda Ann Cherry and husband Steve of DE, Debra Ann Westcott-Damm and husband Ken of NJ, Beth Ann Irvine and husband Richie of MA; one sister, Sophie Benvenuto of NJ, one sister-in-law, Gladys Dombrosky of NJ; twenty two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are one son, Stephen Kyle Sorrels and one brother, Michael Dombrosky.

He was a graduate of Paulsboro High School at NJ, with the Class of 1957. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Cuban Crisis. He attended Atlantic Community College at NJ. He was a former employee of the DuPont Company. He a self employed general contractor. He was a construction official for Bridgeport, NJ, Pleasantville, NJ and Ventnor, NJ. He was an Elevator Inspector for the State of NJ and a Construction Official Consultant for Rutger University. Bill enjoyed hunting, guns, collecting various antiques, including Griswold skillets.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. On Wednesday evening at 6 p.m., a Celebration of Life will be conducted by the Rev. J. Michael Lantz. On Thursday, Mr. Dombrosky will be moved to the Laughrey Funeral Home of Pennsville, NJ, where friends may call on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 11 to 1 p.m. the funeral hour. Interment will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery in Woodstown, NJ, where full military honors will be conducted.
