Students interested in pursuing healthcare careers can receive scholarship assistance from the Davis Health System Foundation.

The Davis Health System Foundation Scholarship Fund, an endowment fund established in 2017, provides an annual scholarship for education in a health-related field to students in Randolph, Barbour, Tucker, Pocahontas, Upshur and Webster counties. The first scholarship will be awarded in 2018 at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Davis Health System Foundation.

“The Tucker Community Foundation is pleased to assist in the establishment of the Davis Health System Foundation Scholarship Fund,” said Robert Burns, executive director for the Tucker Community Foundation. “The Davis Health System Foundation Scholarship Fund was one of four funds formally approved by the board of directors of the Tucker Community Foundation during the January meeting.”

The Davis Health System Foundation was established in 2007 to support the programs and services of Davis Health System and to provide our community the opportunity to advance healthcare through giving. Other programs and service initiatives of the DHS Foundation include the DMC Cancer Care Center, Women’s HealthCare, Telemedicine and the Davis House.

Donors wishing to make a contribution to the fund can do so online at www.tuckerfoundation.net or by mailing a check made out to TCF – DHS Foundation Scholarship, P.O. Box 491, Parsons, WV 26287. Donations to this, or any fund of the Foundation, are tax deductible.

The Tucker Community Foundation manages more than 120 endowed funds providing annual scholarships and grants to nonprofits and charitable causes in Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Preston, Pocahontas, Randolph, and Tucker counties in W.Va. and in Garrett County, Md. For questions or to learn more about creating a scholarship fund, contact the TCF Administrative Office at 304-478-2930 or the TCF Development Office at 304-259-5008.
