DAVIS-THOMAS BOYS’ BASKETBALL UPDATE

MOOREFIELD – The Davis-Thomas Boys’ Basketball teams traveled to Moorefield on Monday February 7th for a JV and Varsity game.  In the JV game the Bears JV team took home the win by the final score of 30-15.  Emmett Felton led the Davis-Thomas JV with 14 points and Drew Simmons added 6 points in the Bears JV win.  In the Varsity game Davis-Thomas picked up the road win by the score of 27-16.  Carson Dearborn led the Bears with 9 points.  Reid Kisamore and Logan Shahan added 5 points each for Davis-Thomas in the win.

 

BAKER – The Boys’ Bears Basketball teams traveled to East Hardy on Wednesday February 9th.  In the first game the Davis-Thomas JV got the win in a close game 39-36.  Cayden Arnold led the Bears JV in scoring with 14 points and Emmett Felton followed close behind in points with 12 points in the Davis-Thomas JV win.  The Varsity game was also a close game as the score remained tied after regulation at 35-35.  In overtime East Hardy outscored the Bears 9-2 to give East Hardy the victory in overtime 44-37.  Carson Dearborn and John Rivera led Davis-Thomas in scoring with 10 points each.

 

THOMAS – The Davis-Thomas Boys’ JV Basketball team hosted Aurora for a JV only contest on Friday February 11th .  In the game the Bears took contest by the final score of 46-28.  The Davis-Thomas JV was led in scoring by Gabe Oliver with 11 points and Drew Simmons added 8 points for the Bears JV in the win.

 

THOMAS – The Bears Boys’ Basketball teams hosted Pendleton County on Tuesday February 15th.  In the JV game the Davis-Thomas JV team picked up the win 35-29.  Gabe Oliver led the Bears JV team with 10 points.  Emmett Felton and Cayden Arnold added 9 points each in the Davis-Thomas JV win.  In the Varsity contest the Bears fell in by the score of 53-41.  Logan Shahan led Davis-Thomas with 17 points and Carson Dearborn added 12 points in the loss for the Bears.  

 

THOMAS – The Davis-Thomas Boys’ Basketball team opened the first round of the PVL playoff against Petersburg on Thursday February 17th.  In the game the Bears trailed at halftime 22-20.  Petersburg then built a 31-26 lead after three quarters and the Vikings then held off Davis-Thomas to win the close contest by final score of 42-40.  Carson Dearborn and Logan Shahan led the Bears in scoring with 10 points each.

 

THOMAS – The Bears JV team hosted the Tucker Valley JV team in the first round of the PVL Playoff on Friday February 18th.  The Davis-Thomas JV team raced ahead of Tucker Valley to build a 18-10 lead at the halftime break.  The Bears then pulled away in the second half to capture the 42-21 win over Tucker Valley.  Cayden Arnold led the Davis-Thomas JV with 12 points in the win.  Emmett Felton and Owen Helmick added 8 points each in the Bears JV win.

 

The Davis-Thomas Boys’ Varsity team ended their season with the playoff loss.  The Bears JV team advanced in the Playoffs to the Semi-Finals.  This Semi-Final game is scheduled for Monday February 21st and the Championship game is scheduled for Thursday February 24th.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
