HAMBLETON – The Tucker Valley Boys’ Varsity Basketball team hosted Romney Middle on Thursday February 17th in the first round of the PVL Playoffs. The Wildcats trailed after one quarter 6-5, but then they outscored the Pioneers 21-2 in the second quarter to give Tucker Valley a 26-8 lead at halftime. The Wildcats then cruised from there as they won the contest by the final score of 56-25 to advance to the PVL Semi-Finals. Mikey Mitchell led Tucker Valley with 17 points and Xander Lambert had 11 points in the win for the Wildcats.
THOMAS – The Wildcats Boys’ JV Basketball team traveled to Davis-Thomas on Friday February 18th for a first round PVL Playoff game. Davis-Thomas raced ahead of Tucker Valley to build a 18-10 lead at the halftime break. The Bears then pulled away in the second half to capture the 42-21 win over Tucker Valley. Ty Ricottilli led the Wildcats JV with 8 points and Nate Davis added 6 points in the loss for Tucker Valley.
The Tucker Valley Varsity teams will continue PVL Conference Playoff play this week with a Semi-Final game against Petersburg that is scheduled for Tuesday February 22nd. The Championship game is scheduled for Thursday February 24th. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
