Davis Thomas Bears faced a setback on Monday, losing to Preston County 4-1 at home. This result mirrored the first game of the season, but the circumstances were entirely different.
The Bears displayed a much tougher and tighter defense; however, they trailed 3-1 at halftime. The Squires would further extend their lead by scoring another goal in the second half. Nicholas Crawford scored the only goal for the Bears, bringing the score to 3-1 in the 23rd minute.
Preston County collected two goals each from Denver Bergdorf and Marvin Dubon. Despite the team’s high effort and performance, they were unable to overcome the formidable Squires. As a result, the Bears’ record in their inaugural season now stands at 3-2.
They will return to action on Tuesday, October 13, at at 5 p.m. hosting Webster County. This will be their final home match and their eighth-grade night. The Bears’ season will conclude on Friday, October 16, at 5:00 p.m. at Notre Dame.
