Derek Zirk looks to get to the basket in the Scott Brown All-Star Classic

BECKLEY – The Scott Brown Classic All-Star game was played in Beckley in April 12th. The game featured players from around the state. The “A” All-Stars would face off against the “AA” All-Stars.

It was a close game as the “AA” team led at the half 47-42. The game would stay close and in the end it came down to one shot. Tavon Horton from Fairmont Senior missed a shot at the buzzer for the “AA” squad and the “A” All-Stars knocked off the “AA” All-Stars 100-99. Williamstown’s Gage Wix made the game winning tip with 11 seconds left in the game. Wix finished with 19 points for the “A” All-Stars, Meadow Bridge’s Kyle Judy and Gilmer County’s Brent Daniels had 18 points each. Tucker County’s Derek Zirk finished the contest with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Poca’s Noah Frampton led the “AA” All-Stars with 17 points.
