Tucker County softball drop two games

CAMP KIDD – The Lady Mt. Lions Softball team faced off against Notre Dame on Monday April 13th at home. Tucker County showed some life in the 2nd inning but could not slow down the Irish as they fell in the contest 12-2.

Notre Dame scored 7 runs in the first inning and 5 runs in the 2nd inning to put the home standing Lady Mt. Lions down early 12-0. Dominique Meadows and Maliyah Smith had 2 doubles each in a 2nd inning rally from the Lady Mt. Lions. Meadows and Cheyenne Phillips scored in the inning to put 2 runs on the scoreboard for Tucker County. Notre Dame ended the game in the 3rd inning as they held Tucker County scoreless to capture the 12-2 road victory.

MORGANTOWN – The Tucker County Softball team traveled to Trinity on Tuesday April 14th for one game against the Lady Warriors. The Lady Mt. Lions ran into a hot Trinity team as they jumped out to 17-0 lead after one and never looked back as they took the victory 21-0.

Trinity exploded in the 1st inning as they scored 17 runs thanks to 5 errors by Tucker County. The Lady Warriors added 4 runs in the 2nd inning to put the game out of reach. Trinity took home the victory 21-0.

Mary Pennington collected the only hit for Tucker County as she singled in the 1st inning.

 

ROMNEY – The Lady Mt. Lions finished the week with a doubleheader at Hampshire on Friday April 17th. In the first contest the Lady Trojans got the victory 14-0. The second game did not go any better for Tucker County as the dropped the game 13-0.

Tucker County(0-12) was scheduled to travel to Pendleton County for a doubleheader on Tuesday April 21st. The Lady Mt. Lions will then host a doubleheader against East Hardy tomorrow April 23rd starting at 5pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
