Professor Andy Hershey discusses the Outdoor Leadership and Adven-ture (OLA) Education program with attendees at the 2025 “Explore Gar-rett”. This year’s “Explore Garrett” Open House will take place on Sat-urday, April 11th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College.

McHenry, MD – Garrett College is hosting an “Explore Garrett” Open House on Saturday, April 11th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College.

Melissa Wass, director of admissions and recruitment, said the College is “looking forward to welcoming prospective students and parents to this year’s event.”

“Garrett College’s Open House is an important opportunity for students and their families to experience campus, explore academic programs, and learn about the support available to help them succeed,” said Wass. “We’re proud to provide a welcoming environment where students can discover their path and feel confident about their next steps.”

Those attending “Explore Garrett” will learn about GC’s academic and workforce training programs through conversations with faculty and administrators, receive information about available financial aid and scholarships, take a tour of the campus, and discover “the many benefits Garrett College has to offer,” said Wass.

Information will be shared about the admissions process, seamless transfer agreements, athletic programs, on-campus housing, placement testing, and new student advising.

Wass noted the College is nearing completion of an ambitious, eight-year initiative to expand and enhance facilities. The latest project is a complete renovation of the 700 Building, which significantly expands intercollegiate athletics facilities.

The new center will service the four teams that play on the adjacent turf field – women’s and men’s soccer, baseball, and softball – as well as provide a new home for the College’s Gulf Atlantic District champion men’s wrestling team. New locker rooms and athletic training space are all included in the project, which will be completed in late spring.
