After closing out the regular season with an impressive 16-5 record, the Lady Mountain Lions are poised and ready to roll into postseason play. With momentum on their side and confidence running high, Tucker County has proven they belong among the state’s elite.
Throughout the season, the Lady Mt. Lions have dominated their region, going undefeated against all Class A opponents. Their resume includes statement wins that turned heads across the state, none bigger than their victory over the defending state champions, the Gilmer County Titans. Handing the reigning champs a loss solidified Tucker County’s reputation as a legitimate contender.
The team’s success has been fueled by its trademark high-speed, pressure-style defense. Opponents have struggled to keep pace with the Lady Mt. Lions’ relentless full-court pressure, quick transitions, and unselfish ball movement. That fast tempo has not only created scoring opportunities but has also worn down even the toughest competition.
With regional dominance secured and postseason brackets set, Tucker County now has its sights on a familiar destination, Charleston. A return trip to the state tournament is the goal, and this experienced squad believes it has what it takes to get there once again.
