LADY MT. LIONS PICK UP THE ROAD WIN AT FRANKFORT 66-57

SHORT GAP – The Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team traveled to Class “AA” Frankfort on Tuesday January 9th. The Lady Mt. Lions built a 22 point lead in the third quarter and held off a late charge from the Lady Falcons to get the win 66-57.


Tucker County got off to a quick start in the first quarter as they led 6-0 early and held a 10 point lead after on 23-13. The visiting Lady Mt. Lions continued to dominate the Lady Falcons in the second quarter as they extended the lead with a 19-12 advantage in the second to make the halftime score 42-25.

The third quarter was played fairly even as Tucker County held a 10-9 scoring edge in the third to push the led to 52-34 after three quarters of play. The home standing Lady Falcons then made a push late in the fourth quarter, but they could not complete the comeback. Tucker County picked up the road win by the final score of 66-57.

Sydney Nestor led Tucker County in scoring with 24 points, 9 rebounds and Terra Kuhn added 21 points, 8 rebounds in the Lady Mt. Lions win. McKinley Murphy added 8 points and Sydney Moore collected 8 rebounds, 4 assists. The Tucker County JV team got the win also 41-37.

Tucker County(9-0) will host East Hardy on Tuesday January 23rd and then they will travel to Notre Dame on Friday January 26th. For more info or complete up to date schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
