KINGWOOD – The Mt. Lions Boys’ Basketball team traveled to Class “AAA” Preston on Wednesday January 10th. Tucker County got off to a hot start and took home a road win over the Knights 66-58.

In the first quarter Tucker County jumped out to an early led and outscored Preston to lead after one 15-7. Preston fought back in the second quarter, but the Mt. Lions responded to make the scoring in the second even at 15-15 to put the halftime score at 30-22 Tucker County.

The third quarter was played pretty even as the Mt. Lions edged the Knights 16-15 in the third to make the score after three quarters 46-37 Tucker County. Preston then got some baskets to fall in the fourth quarter, but their 21-20 advantage in the period was not enough to overcome the Mt. Lions lead. Tucker County got the victory by the final score of 66-58.

Wesley Snyder led Tucker County with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and Alec Cummings added 16 points. Corrick Ambrose had 15 points, 9 rebounds also for Tucker County in the victory.

Tucker County(4-6) will travel to Moorefield tonight January 17th and then they will host Pendleton County on Friday January 19th. The Mt. Lions will then host Wheeling Central on Saturday afternoon January 20th. The JV game Saturday will start at 12:30pm. For more info or complete schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
