LADY MT. LIONS RUN BY ELKINS AT HOME 61-24

HAMBLETON – Tucker County hosted Elkins on Thursday December 28th. The Lady Mt. Lions would dominate the Lady Vikings from start to finish to pull away for the Lady Tigers late in the second quarter and never looked back as they cruised to a 61-24 win at home.


Tucker County held Elkins to just 3 first quarter points and the home standing Lady Mt. Lions led after one 14-3. In the second quarter both teams struggled to score, but Tucker County found their touch late in the second to outscore the Elkins 13-8 to make the halftime score 27-11 Tucker County.

The defense for the Lady Mt. Lions stepped up again in the third quarter as Tucker County outshot the visiting Lady Tigers 18-5 to extend the lead to 45-16 after three quarters. Tucker County then outpaced Elkins 16-8 in the fourth quarter to take the home victory by the final score of 61-24.

Sydney Nestor led Tucker County with 17 points, 8 steals and Terra Kuhn added 14 points, 5 rebounds. McKinley Murphy had 8 points, 4 steals and Dominique Meadows collected 7 rebounds for the Lady Mt. Lions in the win. Elkins was led Haley Smith with 8 points. The Tucker County JV team also picked up the win by the final score of 41-21.

Tucker County(8-0) will travel to East Hardy on Thursday January 4th for a JV-Varsity contests and then the Lady Mt. Lions will host Wheeling Central for a JV-Varsity games Saturday afternoon January 6th. For more info or complete schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
