Lady Mt. Lions Softball Team Opens With 2 Games At Elkins

ELKINS – Tucker County opened the Softball season at Elkins for a double header on March 28th. The Lady Mt. Lions fell short in both games dropping the contests 13-1 and 23-1.

In the first game the Lady Tigers came out swinging as they got the bat going early and held Tucker County to just 1 run in the game to take the victory 13-1. The Lady Mt. Lions finished the game with 5 singles on 22 at bats. Shannon Whitehair led Tucker County with 2 hits while Caroline Adams, Melanie Adams and Alayna Wesoloski had 1 hit each. Whitehair also had 1 stolen base. Bekah Simmons collected 4 strike outs in the game.

The second game did not go much better for the Lady Mt. Lions as they dropped the second game of the double header 23-1. Shannon Whitehair collected 2 hits in the contest followed by Mariah Bowley, Alayna Wesoloski with 1 hit each on 15 at bats. Alexis Adkins had 2 stolen bases in the loss for Tucker County.

Tucker County(0-2) will host Moorefield for a double header on Thursday, then they will travel to Preston on Friday. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
