LADY MT. LIONS VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO MOOREFIELD AT HOME 3-1

HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Volleyball team hosted Moorefield on Thursday October 21st for a JV / Varsity contest.

In the Varsity match Tucker County came out strong as they jumped out to a 5-2 lead in Set 1.  Moorefield fought back to tie the set at 9-9 and 10-10.  The Lady Mt. Lions then went on a 6-1 run to push their lead to 16-11, but the Lady Yellowjackets responded to tie the set at 21-21.  Moorefield then went ahead in the set 24-22, but Tucker County battled back to tie the score at 24-24.  The home team then got the Set 1 win 27-25.

In Set 2 Moorefield exploded to a 6-1 lead.  The Lady Mt. Lions responded to get within 1 point at 12-11.  Moorefield then finished the Set on a 13-1 run to win Set 2 by the score of 25-12.  Set 3 was also controlled by Moorefield as they opened the Set for a 7-0 lead over Tucker County.  The Lady Yellowjackets again went on a run to push their lead to 20-3.  Tucker County tried to fight back, but Moorefield finished Set 3 off by the score of 25-12.  The Lady Mt. Lions were not able to force a 5th set as Moorefield would take Set 4 in a back and forth battle by the score of 25-19.

The Lady Mt. Lions JV team fell in the JV match 2-0, 25-14 and 25-22.

 

Tucker County will host Petersburg on Thursday October 28th at 6pm and then Tucker County will open Sectional Playoff play the week of November 1st.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
