Tucker County traveled to Moorefield this past week to open the season on March 26. The Mt. Lions struggled to get the bats going, with Owen Bolyard collecting a single for Tucker’s only hit of the game.
Tucker then crossed state lines into Oakland, MD, to take on the Southern Garrett Rams. The Mt. Lions’ offensive struggles continued, as they failed to record a hit in the matchup. Defensively, Tucker issued double-digit walks, which led to Southern Garrett shutting out the Mt. Lions, 18-0.
Tucker will look to get things going next week as they travel to Petersburg on March 31, followed by a trip to reigning state champion East Hardy on April 1.
