The Tucker County cross country team opened its season this past week as the Mt. Lions competed in the Knights Night Festival at Preston County High School.
With more than 60 schools represented at the event, Tucker County faced a large field filled with high-level competition. While the Mt. Lions did not come away with any individual or team awards, the experience provided the young team with an opportunity to compete against some of the best runners from around the area.
The competition gave Tucker County valuable knowledge as the season continues, and the Mt. Lions will look to continue improving and building throughout the remainder of the season.
Tucker County will be back in action on Saturday, September 5, when they travel to compete in the Buckhannon-Upshur Invitational.
