HAMBLETON – The Tucker Valley Boys’ Basketball team hosted Central Preston for a Varsity only contest on Saturday afternoon January 29th.

The first quarter was back and forth with Central Preston leading after one quarter 9-5.  The visitors controlled the second quarter as Central Preston outscored Tucker Valley 11-7 in the second to make the halftime score 20-12 Central Preston.

Tucker Valley then clamped down the defense in the third quarter as they held Central Preston to 5 points in the period while scoring 13 to tie the score after three at 25-25.  The fourth quarter was a battle between the two teams.  Tucker Valley pushed into the lead midway through the fourth and made their fouls shots down the stretch to close out the game with a 37-29 home victory over a very talented Central Preston team.

Tucker Valley’s Xander Lambert led all scorers with a game high 18 points and Mikey Mitchell added 9 points for Tucker Valley in the win.

Tucker Valley will return to action on Thursday February 3rd at Petersburg for a 6pm JV start and then the Wildcats will host Union on Friday February 4th at 7pm.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
