Tucker Valley Boys Basketball Opens With Busy Week

The Tucker Valley Boys Basketball team opened their season playing three games this week.

The Wildcats played host to Westwood Middle on December 11th. The JV squad took the win to start off the night with a score of 27-20. The JV squad was led by Legend Harper with 8 points, Quinton Teter with 5 points, Braylon Simmons with 5 points, and Fletcher Hyre with 5 points. The Varsity would take the floor next looking to follow suit but eventually would fall with a score of 40-28. Branson Hyre and Titus Bowley led in scoring with 7 points each, while Landon Wilfong and Isiah Boyles chipped in 4 points each. The Wildcats would take to the road the following night, December 12th traveling to Mill Creek to take on the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs. The JV team would set the tone first with a 43-28 victory.  Junior varsity was led on the night by seventh grader Quinton Teter who dropped 23 points, Easton Wolford pitched in 5 points and Legend Harper with 4 points. The Varsity team would follow suit, hanging a 57-20 win over the Bulldogs. Branson Hyre and Titus Bowley led the way with 13 points each and Landon Wilfong added 12 more. The Wildcats would then travel again on December 14th to Morgantown to take on South Middle School. The JV team fell in the opening bout with a score of 50-15 to South Middle. Wade Boyles notched 8 points and Legend Harper added 6. The Varsity team would also fall in their game with a score of 39-16. The Wildcats were led in the game by Landon Wilfong and John Tuttle who both scored 6 points. The Tucker Valley Wildcats will return home on Tuesday, December 17th, and host Belington Middle School with tip off at 5:45 pm. Then on Saturday, December 21st there will be a varsity only matchup with the Davis Thomas Bears, game to be played at TCHS with tipoff at 4:00 pm.
