TUCKER VALLEY FOOTBALL FALLS AT BUCKHANNON-UPSHUR 38-14

BUCKHANNON – The Wildcats Middle School Football team traveled to Buckhannon-Upshur Middle on Thursday September 29th.  Tucker Valley got down early and they were not able to complete the comeback as Buckhannon-Upshur won the contest 38-14.

 

Buckhannon-Upshur would dominate the first quarter as they would score 2 touchdowns in the first to make the score 14-0 Buckhannon-Upshur at the end of the first quarter.  The second quarter was also controlled by Buckhannon-Upshur as they added 2 more touchdowns to give the home team a 28-0 lead at the halftime break.

 

Tucker Valley would get on the scoreboard in the third on an 80 yard drive to start the second half.  This drive was highlighted by a 55 yard catch and run by Caden Arnold on a pass from Luke Barb.  The drive was capped off with a 5 yard touchdown run by Barb to put the score to 28-6 after a failed PAT by the Wildcats.  Buckhannon-Upshur added another score before the third quarter ended to make the score 35-6 Buckhannon after three quarters.  In the fourth quarter Tucker Valley would get a score on a 35 yard touchdown run by Barb.  The 2 point conversion was good on a Ethan Cummings run to put the score to 35-14 Buckhannon-Upshur.  The home team would add a field goal in the fourth to make the final score 38-14 Buckhannon-Upshur.

 

Luke Barb led Tucker Valley with 17 carries for 103 yards rushing, Cayden Arnold added 3 receptions for 65 yards receiving.  Ben Gooden added 8 tackles for Tucker Valley on defense.

 

Tucker Valley(2-3) will travel to Philip Barbour High School to play Philippi on Wednesday October 5th for a 6:30pm kickoff.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
