TUCKER VALLEY MIDDLE SOFTBALL UPDATE

ELLENBORO – The Lady Wildcats Softball team traveled to Richie County on Thursday April 4th. Tucker Valley picked up the win by the final score of 16-0.

Paige Shaffer and Corrinia Lipscomb combined for a one hitter on the mound for the Lady Wildcats. They also combined for 7 strikeouts. Rachel Felton and Kate Simmons led Tucker Valley at the plate with each collecting 2 hits and each scoring 3 runs. Lipscomb, Autumn Russell and Brianna Gooden had 2 hits each and scored 2 runs each in the victory for Tucker Valley.

CAMP KIDD – Tucker Valley hosted their first home games of the season against Barrackville for a doubleheader on Saturday April 6th. In the first contest the Lady Wildcats got the victory 12-2. Corrinia Lipscomb pitched the first contest and had a complete game win. Lipscomb gave up 2 runs and she also collected 8 strikeouts. Rachel Felton led Tucker Valley with 3 hits and 3 runs scored. Paige Shaffer and Shaleigh Darlington had 2 doubles each and scored 2 runs each in the Lady Wildcats win.

In Game 2 Paige Shaffer and Ava Shaffer combined in pitching to pick up the win for Tucker Valley by the final score of 15-3. The pitchers for Tucker Valley gave up just 3 runs while striking out 6 batters in the contest. Rachel Felton led the Lady Wildcats again on offense as she had a homerun, triple and a single. Felton also scored 3 runs in the last game of the day. Corrinia Lipscomb also scored 3 runs on 2 hits. Tucker Valley combined for 10 hits total in Game 2 of the doubleheader. Tucker Valley improved their record to 7-1 on the season thus far.

Tucker Valley will return to action Friday April 12th at home against Buckhannon. Game start time is set for 5:30pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
