Tucker Valley’s volleyball teams experienced a challenging week, facing off against several tough opponents. On September 14, the Lady Wildcats traveled to East Preston to compete against Terra Alta. The JV team struggled, falling in two sets with scores of 25-15 and 26-24. The varsity team also faced a difficult match, losing in two sets with scores of 25-7 and 25-21.
Returning home on September 15, Tucker Valley hosted Central Preston. The JV team continued their tough streak, losing in two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-19. The varsity team mirrored this outcome, falling in two sets with scores of 25-18 and 25-12.
The week concluded with a varsity-only tri-match at Belington Middle School on Friday, September 18. The Lady Wildcats faced Philippi and, despite a strong performance from Maci Owens, who served for nine points, including five aces, they lost in two sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-13.
The Lady Wildcats found redemption in their match against Bruceton. They secured a victory in two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-23. Maci Owens shined again, serving for 15 points, including six aces, while Avery Decker contributed eight points with four aces. The Lady Wildcats will return to play on September 22 at Central Preston Middle.
