Celebrate the Spirit of Christmas with VFTE

The fifth annual presentation of A Christmas Carol by Voices From The Earth’s Community Theater Ensemble will take place on December 3rd, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the downstairs auditorium of the Thomas Education Center. Performed in the style of an old-time radio show featuring live voices and sound effects, Charles Dickens’ ghost story of Christmas reminds us of the importance of family, love and neighborly compassion.
The Saturday evening performance is free and open to the public, lasts under an hour and includes light refreshments after the show. If you plan to attend, donations to the theater will be gratefully accepted, as well as canned goods which will be given to a local food pantry.
Readers of all ages, from the Cratchit children to the Ghost of Christmas Past, are also needed. Open auditions will be held on Monday, June 28 from 6:00-7:00 in the upstairs classroom of the Thomas Education Center. Anyone interested in taking part may come to the open audition (no prepared material needed), or may sign up by leaving a message for the director, Kerry Robinson at 304-463-4537, or emailing him at kinkerry1@gmail.com. If you miss the chance to get in touch before rehearsals start, you are welcome to show up for the first read-through on Tuesday at 6:30. Some people will be asked to read multiple parts, so bring your best inner characters with you!
Readings/rehearsals will be held Tuesday through Friday evenings, Nov. 29–Dec. 2, from 6:30 until 8-8:30. Not everyone will have to be at every rehearsal. If you are interested in helping with sound effects contact the director soon, or leave a message on our Facebook page (VFTE Community Theater Ensemble).
