KINGWOOD – The Mt. Lions Boys’ Basketball team traveled to Class “AAA” Preston on Wednesday January 10th. Tucker County got off to a hot start and took home a road win over the Knights 66-58.
In the first quarter Tucker County jumped out to an early led and outscored Preston to lead after one 15-7. Preston fought back in the second quarter, but the Mt. Lions responded to make the scoring in the second even at 15-15 to put the halftime score at 30-22 Tucker County.
The third quarter was played pretty even as the Mt. Lions edged the Knights 16-15 in the third to make the score after three quarters 46-37 Tucker County. Preston then got some baskets to fall in the fourth quarter, but their 21-20 advantage in the period was not enough to overcome the Mt. Lions lead. Tucker County got the victory by the final score of 66-58.
Wesley Snyder led Tucker County with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and Alec Cummings added 16 points. Corrick Ambrose had 15 points, 9 rebounds also for Tucker County in the victory.
Tucker County(4-6) will travel to Moorefield tonight January 17th and then they will host Pendleton County on Friday January 19th. The Mt.
