Hamrick PSD Plans Water Project to Include Water Service to Location Residents

The Hamrick PSD is currently in the process of planning a $6,250,000 water project.

This project if completed will provide water to approximately 45 residents of the Location area that currently do not have a reliable water source.

According to Michael Helmick of the PSD this project has a wide scope. The water plant for the Hamrick PSD must be replaced. The project will also address the replacement of failing water lines, replace fire hydrants, and provide a safe access route to a current water tank.

Of course, as always, all these plans are contingent on funding. The Hamrick PSD with the sponsorship of the Tucker County Commission plans to apply for a Small Cities Block Grant this year. If funding is received, Helmick stated that they are hopeful of having the engineering and right-of-way parts of the project completed this year and the project would be shovel ready and digging could begin in the summer of 2015 with an approximate project completion date by the end of 2016.

A hearing will be held concerning this project in the near future, but as of right now, no exact date has been set. Residents that this project will affect are urged to attend this meeting.
