Donald “Dude” Nelson

Donald “Dude” Nelson, 82, of Dryfork, WV passed away April 1, 2018 at Cortland Acres where he resided for the last 14 months. A son of the late Edgar E. and Nela Christie Huffman Nelson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roscoe Nelson and one sister, Betty Kimble.


He is survived by four brothers, Billy Joe Nelson, Burley “Jake” Nelson, Roy Nelson, and James Nelson, all of Dryfork, WV, three sisters, Mary Smith, Doris Cohen, both resides in N.C., and Joane Huffman, Elkins, WV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who were involved in his life and loved him dearly; followed by several great-nieces and great-nephews as well. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Laneville, WV. He loved the outdoors and riding his four-wheeler to visit with his friends and family.

Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held, 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment followed at Nelson Family Cemetery in Laneville, WV. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.hinklefuneralhome.com
