Eleanor Denora James, 91, passed away January 22, 2020 at Cortland Acres in Thomas, West Virginia. She was born May 16, 1928 in Douglas, West Virginia a daughter to the late Angelo and Mary Casino Cearocco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Jesse” Grant James on December 31, 1971. Also preceding her in death, one son, Mark James on October 10, 1987, two brothers, Guy Victor Ciarocco and John Rose, and six sisters, Emma Viole, Lillian Ramunno, Anna Mancini, Jessica LaBarca, Adeline Garner, and Rose Decker.

Mrs. James is survived by two sons, Tony James and wife Loretta and Loman James and wife Debbie, both of The Villages, Florida, three grandchildren, Jarrod James, Randy James and wife Kimberley, and Jennifer Wainwright and husband Bryan, and three great-grandchildren, Chelsie James, Sydney Wainwright and Austin Wainwright.

Eleanor was Catholic by faith. She was a member of FOE 936. She took great pride in being a homemaker and caring for her family. She loved being involved in the local communities and preparing for the community dinners. Her favorite pastimes were playing BINGO, the challenges of word puzzles, and reading books.

Friends were received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Friday, January 24, from 5 – 8 p.m. with rosary held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial was held, 11 a.m., Saturday, January 25, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment followed in Texas Cemetery, Horse Shoe Run, West Virginia. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
