Linda J. Shupp, 77, of Thomas, WV, passed away on May 21, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on November 27, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Orie Lee and Anna Alice (Wozniak) Smith.

Linda graduated from Kenwood High School. She worked for Cortland Acres as an activities aide where she volunteered a lot of her free time as well. She attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with her husband. Linda had a passion for collecting frogs, enjoyed fishing, word games and puzzles, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and was known to many as “mam” or “mammy”.

She is survived by her second husband, Howard Dale Ashby; two children, John H. Shupp III and fiance Tracy Johnson of Elkins, and Kelly L. Fulton and husband Ed of Thomas; four grandchildren, J. Brandon Shupp and wife Kira, Kristen Shupp and boyfriend Justin, Alexis Baker and husband Dylan, and Kordell Fulton and girlfriend Ashlee Huffines; four great grandchildren, Autumn, Brinleigh, Braylee and Barrett; and two sisters, Kathy Kuser and Mary Bender.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Shupp Jr.; three brothers, Donald Smith, Orie Lee Smith, Jr., and Richard Smith.

Linda’s request for cremation will be honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.

The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Shupp family at this time.
