Moody Eldridge Collette, age 70 years, a resident of Philippi, WV departed this life Friday evening, February 12, 2021 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.

He was born Thursday, April 6, 1950 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late William Eldridge and Mary Virginia Simmons Collette.  He was married to the former Margaret Mae “Peg” Miller, who preceded him in death.  Surviving are two sons, William “Keith” Collette and wife Terri of Mackeyville, Jacob Lee “Jake” Collette and wife Regina of Philippi; four grandchildren, Hannah and Preston Collette, Hunter Hockman and Sarah Cervi and husband Anthony; one great grandchild, Eli Cervi; his significant other, Linda Colebank of Philippi; Mother-in-law, Dorthy Winkler; sisters-in-law, Linda Cassidy and husband Pat and Ruth Marks and husband Steve; one brother-in-law, Leonard Arnold; and his beloved dog Sadie.

Moody was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  Preceding him in death are one sister, Raeanna “Phoebe” Arnold and infant twin siblings, Kevin and Karen Collette; and one nephew, Charles Arnold.

He attended the schools of Mackeyville and was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1968, with his best friends, Marvin Canfield, John Poling, and David Shuup.  He had worked at Stonewall Casualty Insurance and was a former employee for twenty-eight plus years for Stanley Industries at the Shiloh Coalmine.  He loved farming cattle and taking hunting trips to Ohio with his son.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11 a.m.  Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.  Masks and social distancing will be required. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Moody Eldridge Collette.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
