Vonda Wyoma Bohon Phillips, age 85 years, resident of Parsons, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center at Elkins, WV and under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice.

She was born Wednesday, October 13, 1937, at St. George, WV, a daughter of the late James Junior Bohon and Edna Marie Summerfield Bohon.    On June 30, 1956, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Truman Lee Phillips, who preceded her in death October 1, 2022.  They had celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.

Surviving are three sons, David Lee Phillips and wife Kathy of Parsons, Danny Ray Phillips and wife Lois “Deanie” of Soddy Daisy, TN and Deral Jay Phillips and wife Kathy of Morgantown; two sisters, Thelma Delores “Dee” Myers and husband Junior of Masontown and Wilda McBee of Morgantown; seven grandchildren, Kelly Helmick and husband David, Kim Dilly and husband Duane and Eli and Emily Phillips, Shantae Carter and husband Dustin, Stephanie Woods and husband Steven and Ryan McDermott and wife Brooke; and thirteen great grandchildren, Macy and Maddy Helmick, and Evan and Ella Dilly, Nash and Ryder Morris, Lauren and Morgan Woods, Coby, Boston, Bailen, Presley and Aussie McDermott.

Preceding her in death is one sister, Lydia Louise Credal; and one brother, Willard Otis Bohon.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1968.  She worked four years night shift as a nursing assistant at the former Tucker County Hospital and then later taught kindergarten for over twenty years at Hamrick School.  She was a hard worker; an excellent painter and she painted crafts that her husband Truman made.  She and her husband always had large gardens, and she enjoyed canning her produce and she would take her canned foods to local fairs and won several awards.  She judged social study fair exhibits at the schools in Kingwood for many years. She was a very loving Christian lady who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren so very much.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.  Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11 a.m.  The Rev. David Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.  The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care that Vonda received at Mountain Memories.   The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Vonda Wyoma Bohon Phillips.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
